Challenge

Production Design

Design all printed materials and props for the film, directed by Joel David Moore and produced by Radio Active Giant. During this project I worked as the lead graphic designer for the props department.

Brand Character/Tone

Timeless, generic, quirky, common. Similar to Wes Anderson’s work.

Target Audience

Adults who enjoy dark comedies and indie films.

Brand Message

To produce items that would not be distracting to the audience, and not resemble a specific time period in American culture.

Solution

The deliverables were designed in a simplistic and timeless style, as if these items could actually be found in this small town, and not distract the viewer.

Identification

Here are some examples of the medical and Inspector badges I created for the characters to show their identification.

Junior High Newspaper

These daily newspapers were made to look like Junior High schoolers created them for their classmates.

Branded Vehicles

In the movie the police and a construction worker make appearances so they needed to have branded vehicles.
